Quebec’s prominent singer revisits rock classics from the 70s.

Sylvain Cossette was first known to Canadians as the lead singer of Paradox. The Juno nominated band made its mark in the early 90s with hit singles such as “Waterline” and “Another day”.

After the band broke up, Sylvain Cossette released his first French solo album in Quebec in 1994. The singer-songwriter soon established himself as one of the most and powerful and distinctive vocalists in French Canada. Half a million records sold and numerous awards later, Sylvain Cossette is about to release his first ever English album.

The album simply named “70s” will feature new arrangements on classics by Foreigner, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Elton John and many others. This repertoire represents a big challenge for any singer. Those were the days when rock songs were epic, powerful and... high pitched.

There are very few Canadian singers who can undertake such a challenge. Sylvain Cossette is surely one of them, and he proves it brilliantly with the first single taken off the “70s” album. Sylvain Cossette’s rendition of “More than a feeling” by Boston shows undoubtedly that he is an exceptional singer. The lush arrangements and production work by Michel Corriveau with the very special collaboration of legendary producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Kiss, Alice Cooper) give a new twist to the song but also keep the essence of what made it a true classic.

But most of all, it is the perfect setting to feature the impressive talent of Sylvain Cossette.
